Convert cups to quarters
In this game I had to match the things that convert cups into quarters. It wasn’t that difficult for me because I knew that 1 quarter is equal to 8 cups. At the end of the game I got 1 wrong and my percent was 94%. I got 94% because the last question I got it wrong. So next time I hope I can get 100%.

Meeting Brooke Neal
After morning tea room 7 and 8 got a opportunity to meet a hockey player and her name was Brooke Neal from the black sticks. She came to talk about the three olympic values but she added her own value to the three values and her value was purposeful. Brooke inspired me to go fulfill the dreams I have been dreaming about. She told us about how whenever she is about to go on to the field she locks herself in the bathroom and puts her chest out, hands on her hips, and chin up so she can be relaxed.

Finding 8 planets using angles
In this game, I had to find all 8 planets using angles. After I finish the first round it got harder and harder. I found this game easy because it gave me a online protractor to help me with my angles. In my last game it was difficult because it was hiding some planets behind the sun and some planets were blending in dark grey sky.

Personification peom
Walt: write a personification poem
Book:
Bursting with unspoken words, conversations unheard
Held together with covers, like two hard doors
Trapped in silence evermore
Then tentative hands, like hunting cats paws
Open the door with explorers hands
Stories and words are there to be told
The book becomes alive, like stars in the sky
Shining knowledge and pleasure on a reader's mind

Meeting the silver ferns
Yesterday 9 of us went to St Kentigern college to meet 4 of the Silver Ferns. It was so exciting because I never met them before. The skills that we learnt were shooting, passing the ball straight and hard to their chest. Catherine said that power comes from your legs. She is my most favourite out of all of them. The skill that I mostly enjoyed was shooting. We played a game called golden child, even though I’m not a shooter I still enjoyed it. Maria said that she started playing netball when she was in a certain age then a few years later she became a Silver Fern. She is a Silver Ferns for 11 years now.

Life ed with Nicole
This morning room 7 and 8 combined together and went to the life ed van to meet Nicole. In the van we learnt about the brain, and the nervous system. While we were in the van we learnt about three things and they were things that happen in your body so the words that we had to match up with these words, physical, emotional, and social. Physical means that while you are growing up what are the things that changes in your body, emotional means that what are you feeling, and social means that do you want to talk to someone about your private things.

How has sports made me a better person
Walt : write an explanation
I have always liked sports and sport has showed me to learn about some sport values. And the values I remembered are : Respect yourself, respect the rules, and respect your teammates, while you are playing in a game.
Sport has made me a better person
Respect
Respect has made me a better person in sport because now I am a little bit fit and mentally able to cope with what is required of me in sports. I have learn’t to listen to my coaches advice on how to play the sports.
Respect that I have to able to work with my teammates, to achieve our goals. I have learnt that I have to learn to respect the other team that we are playing against and to take losses and victory with humanity. One also has to learn to keep and even temper and not show too much emotion on the field as you can not let down your teammates by your behaviour.
Excellence
In sports the sport that I mostly play is netball and every Tuesday we all have to work together to win every single game. Even Though that we lost our first game of netball we are still at the top of the score board.
Excellence has taught me to not cheat and respect the other team. We shared 1st place with this team called Kohimarama and last Tuesday we beat them, now we are finally at the top of the score board. I enjoyed playing with my teammates and versing other teams too.
Friendship
Sport has made me a better person by making new friends with my opponents. I play netball but at school in a team we go to the AMI netball court and compete with other schools.
I enjoyed playing sports and meeting other opponents. Sports has made me a better person because it has made me fit and healthy. But in netball I need to learn and get free and keep my eyes on the ball.

Crocodile division
Crocodile division, to know this game you will have to know your time tables or your division. This game will help you in maths. To play this game there will be a hand holding a toothbrush with some toothpaste on it. If you get it right then the hand will start brushing the crocodile's mouth. It will start by showing a division problem, and then the crocodiles will open their mouths one by one. Before they open their mouths you have to click on the correct answer. I got 11 correct and 2 wrong. I hope next time I will get a higher score like 22 or more.

Basic facts
In maths I had to do basic facts on prototec and I done stage 5,6, and 7 but I forgot to take a screenshot of stage 6. I got low scores on all of them because it was going too fast like it only gave me 3 seconds to answer. Hopefully next time I would get a higher score than the score that I got now. Next time I would like to learn how to convert fractions, and also how to do decimals.

Cook Island Language Week
Today after morning tea room 7 and 8 went to the library to learn about the history of Cook Island and to learn about their culture, three lovely people came to the library and some of them were from the Auckland museum. I found drilling the hole into the piece of wood hard. It was with a funny looking stick with a blunt end, but when I tried it out it was difficult because when I was lifting it up and down it kept on coming off. To use the drilling tool you had to twist the string and lift it up and down to make a hole. What was interesting,it was interesting how to put the two pieces of wood together, and drill holes into the wood. To build their Vakama-(Canoe) they had to use the tree of life (coconut string) but the fibre part of it.

Metaphors
Walt: match metaphors with their meaning sport and nonsport activities.
On Thursday afternoon, we had to get into groups of three. Mrs Ramkolowan gave us strips of papers and a thick piece of paper that had metaphors on. We had to match it to the sport and nonsport activites. I was in a group with Shanelle, the writing target group couldn’t help us. They had to sit back and watch us match it all up. After matching all the metaphors, the writing target group came to see if we got it all right. Shanelle and I got it all right. I found it fun and interesting to do. The metaphor that I will try to use in my writing will be a sprint finish.

Mazes
Mazes are usually found in europe and are creative in the large gardens of kings and ariocracts. Mazes have no use other than for people to have fun in.
Big mazes which you can walk through have been built for thousands of years use in turf, stones, edges, and tiles. Small mazes have been use as patterns of walls dishes and monuments. One of the world's most famous mazes is found at Hampton Court in England,It is made out of living hughes.
The way to where the centre of the maze is, is to place your hand on a wall of the hedge as you enter the maze, do not remove your hand from the wall eventually you will find the centre of the maze, and so have solved the puzzle of the maze.
Mazes are with lots of walls, are very easy to get lost in. In Finland and Sweden where they also have mazes. A young women will stand in the centre of a maze and if a young man at the entries of the maze could find her he could claim her as his girlfriend.
The oldest surviving maze is over three thousand years old, discovered in Greece, inscribed into an ancient clay tablet.
Mazes were created for fun, for the owners of the land. Mazes are not built very often anymore as people these days have other more modern amusement.

Cement in a cup
Walt: make 3d art.
We took 3 weeks to make 3d art. This is my 3d art, I really enjoyed making because we could mix the cement and pour it inside the frame and put cardboard under the frame and if it is watery then it wont tip out. I am proud of my art that I made, it’s not that perfect because my cup is not in the midlle. But I am still proud of my art.

Mad scientist
Walht: write an interesting and enjoyable narrative.
It is a bright day in China, Jake’s dad, Peter was a scientist who would do experiments on human beings. One day Jake went to tell his dad if he is coming to the fundraiser or not, he didn't know where he was so he went to his lab to see if he was there. As soon as he went inside the lab Peter was standing behind the machine, and the son was standing in the way of the apple. The machine was on max and Zap! Went the machine. Jake said “I feel funny” then suddenly up up up he went into the clouds, he turned into a giant. Peter didn’t know what to do but luckily there was an antidote to cure him.
While Peter was looking for the antidote Jake was wondering off in this bad weather,he went to go to the park and play with his friends but he was too big to play soccer. His friends were in shock Peter was looking for the antidote so he could cure him, then he will turn back to normal.
Jake was so scared he didn’t know what to do instead he jumped and climbed over houses to see if the fundraiser was still going fine without them but then, back at the lab Peter was busy like a bee trying to make the antidote to cure his son, Jake went back to the lab he slammed into a tall tree so he went back to the park, Peter tried to turn the apple into a giant one and then he used the antidote on the apple and it turned back to normal size.
Peter yelled out to his son Jake, Jake ran back to the lab “drink this” said Peter it will help you get back to normal size Jake couldn’t wait to get back to normal size he was excited Jake drank it and he was splendid his friends were surprised he was so glad and they quickly drifted off to the fundraiser luckily it was still okay, almost everyone in the fundraiser asked where were you Peter replied you wouldn't want to know.

Memories with my mum
Memories with my mum
My first game for rugby was the most terrifying day of my life, because I had no one to support me. Luckily my mum was there to support me. I played for the year 7 and under team, so we had to warm up and wait for the other team to come, as soon as I saw them arrive I thought we were going to lose, but my mum told me to just believe in myself and do the best I can.
We started the game and my mum was cheering for us to go and get a try I got three tries because my mum was there for me. I will always remember that time and I will always love my mum no matter what. After the game we went to Countdown to do some shopping and my mum saw one banana that had a sign and it said, “Hey, I’m single.” We had a little laugh but actually it was a long laugh.
I enjoyed having my mum at my first rugby game, we had a great time, and the scores were 23 to 12 so that means that we won the game, and I couldn't have done it without you mum.

The Order Of operations
Walht: use the order of operation - BEDMAS to solve problems.
While I was playing the game it was a bit hard, because i'm not use to doing BEDMAS. It got harder and harder as we went up the leaderboard. When we were doing the problems I kept on getting it right and Trinity kept on getting it wrong. At the end we finally finished and it said Congratulation! you are the winner Lakai. And this really helped me in my maths.

Trip to Motutapu
Thank you for organising the trip for us. I really appreciate it. It was my first time going on a boat and going to Motutapu island. I enjoyed going on the ferry because you could go to the back and see the great view of Rangitoto. I loved going on the 10km walk because while I was walking with my friend Trinity she was so tired because her legs were sore. My buddy was Annie. I had a fun time at Motutapu island, is was tiring and fun at the same time. My friend Trinity and I went to get some watermelon and energy drink. And again Thank Julie Kidd, Air New Zealand Green Team, and also Mr Steve for Organising the walk for us.

Last day of snag golf
Purpose:To evaluate the skills learnt for snag golf.
To share our learning with the world.
Success Criteria: Use past tense.
Able to explain in sequence.
Walt: play long shots in snag golf.
On Thursday it was the last day of snag golf Room 8 went to the field and we learned how to do long shots on grass. We had to partner up and find a place so we can play snag golf our coach was Hugh. There was a flag and that was our target so we can hit, the ball had to fly in the air and hit the flag or below. If you can’t hit the target then try and hit the yellow part, and the ball will stick to it. While you are trying to hit the ball you have to get into position first bend you elbows twist your shoulders then you do your hardest swing and aim for the target you have to try to balance yourself. I done a great job at hitting the ball because I had powerful swings and I kept my eye on the ball.

Estimation Activities
On Monday Lauren and I were learning how to estimate kernels, husk and silks on a sweet corn. I found the learning difficult because I didn't know how to do rounding off. My partner was Lauren. The skill that I had to learn to know how to estimate is to use tidy numbers and rounding off. Our estimation was not close because we had a wild guess. Next I would like to learn how to convert fractions to decimals.

Today we have been learning to write HAIKU poems in class. A HAIKU poem is with 3 lines. The first line have 5 syllables, the second line has must have only 7 syllables and the third line should have at least 5 syllables. They don't have to rhyme . We have to come up with at least 3 adjectives which we will use in our poem , It was a challenge for me because I have to choose my words carefully but I had a good fun doing it with my friends.
