Enlargement chalk art

Enlargement.PNG
Walt: enlarge a picture.

This morning I had to find a picture and a grid to place over the photo. We went outside onto the asphalt to draw our picture. I done a dolphin because I’m not a good drawer as you can see my dolphin is not complete yet but I did finish my grid. I drew my grid and it was 5 by 5 the 1cm represented 30cm. The most easiest part was drawing my grid and the difficult part was drawing my picture. I had to count the grid and the squares to get my picture but it was just on one side. Next time I would want to challenge myself with a more harder photo.

Learning how to do enlargement.

WALT: do enlargement activities.

Today in room 8 we learned about enlarging pictures. We also learned about what scale factor and transformation means. I found this work very hard because I chose something challenging for me to draw. Next time I will like to learn to multiply harder numbers.

Convert cups to quarters

Screenshot 2016-11-02 at 9.28.00 AM.png

In this game I had to match the things that convert cups into quarters. It wasn’t that difficult for me because I knew that 1 quarter is equal to 8 cups. At the end of the game I got 1 wrong and my percent was 94%. I got 94% because the last question I got it wrong. So next time I hope I can get 100%.

Meeting Brooke Neal

collage.jpg

After morning tea room 7 and 8 got a opportunity to meet a hockey player and her name was Brooke Neal from the black sticks.  She came to talk about the three olympic values but she added her own value to the three values and her value was purposeful. Brooke inspired me to go fulfill the dreams I have been dreaming about. She told us about how whenever she is about to go on to the field she locks herself in the bathroom and puts her chest out, hands on her hips, and chin up so she can be relaxed.

Finding 8 planets using angles

Screenshot 2016-10-21 at 9.58.31 AM.png

In this game, I had to find all 8 planets using angles. After I finish the first round it got harder and harder. I found this game easy because it gave me a online protractor to help me with my angles. In my last game it was difficult because it was hiding some planets behind the sun and some planets were blending in dark grey sky.

Personification peom

Walt: write a personification poem

Book:

Bursting with unspoken words, conversations unheard
Held together with covers, like two hard doors
Trapped in silence evermore
Then tentative hands, like hunting cats paws
Open the door with explorers hands
Stories and words are there to be told
The book becomes alive, like stars in the sky
Shining knowledge and pleasure on a reader's mind
