On Tuesday the whole seniors side except room 9 went to the Howick Historical Village It was so fun and interesting. This was the first thing we did at the village. Sadly we had to go to another activity but I had a lot of fun playing with the toys. My favourite toy was this old fashion yo-yo I had to roll the wooden clown up then control it by moving it up and down. If I had a chance to make a toy I would make the yo-yo.
I am a Year 8 student at Glen Innes School in Auckland, New Zealand. I am in Room 8 and my teacher is Mrs Ramkolowan.

Surface area and volume
While I was practicing doing volume the first practice was easy and my favorite. It helped me to have a better understanding of volume. It was also fun to play and I hope to play it again. Next I would like to learn more about capacity.

Visualizing
Walht: think about images we “see” as we read.
Text:
Mushrooms and pepperoni sausage formed thick layers on top of one another while the white mozzarella cheese bubbled over the bright red tomato sauce. Each time I took a bite I planned it so that I got a taste of every luscious ingredient. My taste buds celebrated every single time! Oooh, so good
Today for reading we had to read a short story then draw a image in our head. To do visualizing you have to make a movie in you mind. I had a lot of fun doing visualizing. It was easy for me to do this activity. Next I want to do more things that relate to visualization.

Mini quiches
Today we made mini quiches. This was a new experience for me. This was the beginning of pastry making. Next week we are going to make bigger quiches. I would make these mini quiches at home because the steps are really simple. The quiches tasted delicious.

Reading angles
In class we have been learning about angles. Mrs Ramkolowan put masking tape on 7 desks. We had to practice using a protractor to read the angles. I did well when I was reading the angles, it was kind of easy for me to do. After we marked all the angles on the desk we had to name each angle like if one angle is less that 90 degrees then it is a acute angle. I now have a better understanding of how to read different types of angles.

Crossword - Inferences
Today we had to make a crossword puzzle based on inferences. I made this crossword at www.abcya.com. It was kind of easy for me making this crossword puzzle because there were just four simple steps.
